Mountains Making Clouds

Nearly Wordless Wednesday

After the snowstorm,

the sky was cloudless,

and the world was white and gray

and blue and gold.

But it didn't stay that way!

Soon, there were mists of melted snow

rising from the mountain,

to re-join the clouds above.

Winds swept across the mountainside,

lifting the wet snow into the sun-warmed air,

where it condensed to become cloud again.

And as the sun set,

it painted its handiwork

with blue and gray,

pink and gold.

  1. I miss mountains. How much of the space they take, while the sky still can somehow seem bigger. Lovely photos!
