This morning as I drove the Boychick to school, I turned on the radio.
I heard that President Obama had fired the CEO of GM.
My first sensation was a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.
I almost had to pull Henry, the Big Red Truck (it's a Ford!) to the side of Frost Road.
My first thought was: Welcome to the USSA!
Does anyone remember the Yugo?
As General Motors' CEO, Rick Wagoner oversaw a company which refused to adjust to changing realities in the auto market while turning out crappy cars no one wanted to buy. And he still received a $20 million golden parachute on the way out the door. I wouldn't feel too sorry for him if I were you.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm not feeling particularly sorry for Wagoner. He should have told Bush to take a hike and filed for Chapter 11 last fall, thereby saving himself and the company all of this trouble.
ReplyDeleteI am feeling sorry for my children. When the president of the United States starts running automobile companies, the Constitution is in tatters.
Crazy! When I heard that I expected to hear some kind of uproar...but nobody seemed to care at all. I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
